Regulatory Standards and Technical Application

The course Regulatory Standards and Technical Application addresses the importance of the Regulatory Standards (NRs) as instruments that complement the Consolidation of Labor Laws (CLT), translating general duties into concrete, measurable, and auditable technical procedures. These standards are mandatory for all public and private companies governed by the CLT, and noncompliance may result in citations, fines, and extreme measures such as embargoes or interdictions. They are constantly updated to keep pace with technological innovations and changes in production processes, covering safety management (NR-4 and NR-5), provision and control of PPE (NR-6), safety in machinery and equipment (NR-12), and high-risk activities, such as work at heights and confined spaces (NR-33 and NR-35).

The correct application of the NRs requires not only practical knowledge but also rigor in document management, which is the company’s main guarantee of legal security. This includes the systematic filing of technical reports and records, such as PPRA/PGR and LTCAT; control of PPE delivery with CA numbers; maintenance of Occupational Health Certificates (ASOs) and medical records; ensuring traceability and a quick response to inspections and audits. Proper document organization makes it possible to monitor the evolution of risks and consistently demonstrate legal compliance.

To illustrate the technical function of the standards, the coursebook uses the analogy of building a house: the CLT represents the foundation and blueprint, while the NRs function as technical manuals that detail each electrical, structural, or plumbing installation. The Occupational Safety Technician acts as the construction inspector, serving as the bridge between the standard and daily practice, ensuring that no procedure is performed outside the established standard and guaranteeing safety, integrity, and compliance in all work operations.
