Foundations of Behavioral Science and Organizational Psychology

In this course, students will understand scientific organizational behavior, which integrates psychology, sociology, anthropology, and political science to analyze the impact of individuals, groups, and structures in the workplace. The historical evolution of people management will be discussed, the importance of evidence-based systematic study, and the integration between organizational objectives and individual needs, promoting mental health and preventing psychosocial risks such as overload, role conflict, and burnout.

The module also explores the application of neuroscience to management, highlighting how emotions influence decisions and motivation, the importance of neuroplasticity in training, natural resistance to change, and unconscious biases, providing tools for leaders to mitigate cognitive errors and promote effective learning.

It also addresses individual characteristics, perception, personality (Big Five model), and diversity management, emphasizing the creation of inclusive environments that foster creativity, innovation, and stronger decisions.
Finally, students will study contemporary ethics and dilemmas in people management, highlighting the need for morally courageous leaders who balance competitiveness with respect for human dignity, addressing challenges such as pressure for results versus humane treatment of the team and the responsible use of emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence, ensuring ethical and sustainable decisions.
