The course details the operation of conductivity meters and conductometric cells, highlighting factors that influence the readings, and applies the technique in conductometric titrations, determining equivalence points graphically and precisely, without visual indicators.
In thermal analysis, the focus is on TGA (mass variation), DTA (endothermic and exothermic events), and DSC (enthalpy of thermal transitions), allowing physical and chemical changes to be monitored under controlled temperature variation.
The combination of these techniques is applied industrially and academically to ensure the purity and stability of pharmaceuticals, determine the glass transition temperature in polymers, evaluate properties of fats, and characterize minerals, offering the chemist a true "forensic laboratory" for precise analysis of matter.
