On the electrochemical side, the course details Potentiometry applied to the pH meter, which measures the electrical potential difference without significant current, using the Nernst Equation. The equipment has indicator and reference electrodes, often combined in a single modern electrode, translating the potential difference into accurate pH values.
These methods allow monitoring the quality of biological processes and controlling physical-chemical steps in industrial applications, such as water and wastewater treatment plants.
